Curriculum Planning
Identify weaknesses, prioritise areas for development and create a challenging and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
Key Objectives
To raise teaching and learning standards.
To provide quality skills-based lessons that have a direct impact on each and every child’s attainment.
To ensure continuity & progression across Key Stages and individual Year Groups.
Improve Your Literacy Curriculum
In Your School
Focusing on the explicit and implicit teaching and learning of Key Skills and subject knowledge both within Literacy and the wider curriculum, John will work closely with your staff to ensure that you create a Programme of Study that is both stimulating and fun, a curriculum that builds upon prior learning and provides you with the continuity and progression essential for learners to make substantial progress and gain valuable independence.
Teachers will gain a clear understanding of how to adopt a 'reading to write' approach and consider important aspects of assessment and recording of children’s work and progress.
In doing so, teachers will appreciate the need to integrate reading comprehension and the spoken word within Literacy lessons in a clear and purposeful way so that core skills learnt can be applied effectively and work produced is authentic.
